The Sydney Harbour Bridge

Did you know?

The Sydney Harbour Bridge was formally opened
on Saturday 19 March 1932.

According to the Guinness World Records,
it is the world's widest long span bridge.

The bridge is locally nicknamed "The Coat Hanger"
because of its arch based design.

Until 1967 the Harbour Bridge was Sydney's tallest structure.

Since 1998, BridgeClimb has made it possible
for tourists to climb the southern half of the bridge.
